Dr. Calin G. Cosma, the President of the Company is the main personality to drive the Company to its high technological base, as, both, a world-wide recognized scientist and a professional in applied seismics.

He has over 25 years of experience in developing and implementing multi-disciplinary geoscience research programs, developing rock characterization tools and techniques, including teaching and tutoring.

M.Sc., Physics of the Earth from University of Bucharest and PhD (“The Study of the Structure of the Rockmass by Seismic Tomography”) from the same University, Dr. Calin Cosma is holder of the following Patents:

  • 1986– Canadian Patent “Seismic Pulse Generator for a Borehole”
  • 1986– British Patent “Signalling Device Effecting a Seismic Pulse”
  • 2000 – US Patent “Swept Impact Technique and Apparatus”

He is affiliated to the following Professional Associations:

  • Finnish Association of Mining and Metallurgy
  • ISRM, International Society of Rock Mechanics
  • KEGS, Canadian Geophysical Society
  • SEG, Society of Exploration Geophysics
  • EAGE, European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers
  • PDAC, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada

With hundreds of Reports and tens of Scientific papers on Hard Rock Seismic Imaging Methods and Characterization for Nuclear Waste Disposal, Ore delineation using Crosshole Seismics, Tomographic Inversion, Multi-Azimuth VSP methods, VSP in Crystaline Rock, 3D Fracture Mapping etc… Dr. Calin Cosma has also a vast Academic activity working with famous academic institutions all over the world (Purdue University, USA, Memorial University, Canada, Laval University, Canada, Upsala University, Sweden just to name few of them).

Dr. Nicoleta ENESCU, Managing Director, Vibrometric Canada

Dr. Nicoleta Enescu joined the Company in 1996. With a strong academic background she started as Research Engineer and contributed to the development of Vibrometric’s seismic methodologies and apparatus, SIST sources being among the most notables. She also participated and managed Seismic Investigation Survey Projects i.e. ANDRA at Grimsel, SKB at Äspö etc... She also contributed to the development of methods for accurate arrival time picking (Neural Networks application to seismic data processing) and in the modeling the seismic response of kimberlite pipes.

M.Sc. (eng.) from “Polytechnica” University of Bucharest and Licentiate of Technology, from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, Dr. Nicoleta Enescu received her PhD in 2009 from the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Physics (thesis on “Seismic Signal Detection and Processing using Neural Networks”).

Among other duties within Vibrometric, she is also starting member of the planning team of the CO2SINK (European Commission research project on geological storage of CO2 as a means of reducing green house gas emissions).

Since 1999, she is the Managing Director of Vibrometric Canada.
